Gap spacing between the deck boards is recommended in order to be able to drain off rainwater and fallen debris.
However, the spacing between the boards depends on the decking material type : natural wood or composite wood. These two materials do not have the same dimensional variation and must therefore have their own recommended spacing.
Composite wood expands lengthways with changes in temperature, while natural wood expands widthways with changes in humidity. Cobra® DECKSPACER allows 4 different gap spacing : 3/4/5/6 mm.
Wood composite, unlike natural wood, has a linear expansion that varies with temperature differences.
Cobra® DECKSPACER is convenient for all kinds of decking materials available in the market.
